Assessing The Cnsumers' Share of Harmonic Distortion
A method for determining the consumer's share of harmonic distortion in electric network is proposed. A modified criterion for the identification of the source of harmonic distortion is developed based on the Active Power Direction method. The proposed criterion considers the direction of the active powers of individual harmonic components recorded at a single point of measurement. The method can help assessing the liability over the injection of harmonic distortion between the utility and the customer. Simulation results stand in good agreement with the proposed approach. The proposed approach is aimed to be employed by a smart eclectic energy quality meter/analyzer installed at a single measurement point.
