Fast Identification of Redundant Constraints In An Electric Network.

This paper presents a novel method for a quick identification of redundant constraints of the power network. The method does not rely on any type of grid model and is therefore suited for any type of DC or AC model. The redundancies of constraints attached to elements (e.g. thermal limits attached to lines) are determined w.r.t. the constraints associated to subnetworks around those elements, instead of the entire grid. It results in a method with substantial gain in the computation time and which provides a set containing all non-redundant constraints plus some (few) redundant constraints. The method scales very well with the size of the power grid.
