Dušan Borojević (Life Fellow, IEEE) received the Dipl. Ing. degree from the University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia, in 1976, the M.S. degree from the University of Novi Sad, Novi Sad, Serbia, in 1982, and the Ph.D. degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), Blacksburg, VA, USA, in 1986.,From 1986 to 1990, he was an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Power and Industrial Electronics Research Program, Institute for Power and Electronic Engineering, University of Novi Sad. Then, he was an Associate Professor with the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Virginia Tech, where he is currently the University Distinguished Professor with the Department and the Deputy Director with the Center for Power Electronics Systems. His research interests include electronic power distribution systems, multiphase power conversion, power electronics systems modeling and control, and integrated design of power converters. He was the President of the IEEE Power Electronics Society for 20112012. He is a Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering. He was the recipient of four honorary professorships and numerous other awards, including the IEEE William E. Newell Power Electronics Technical Field Award and European Power Electronics Association (EPE) Outstanding Achievement Award.

Mladen Kezunovic (Life Fellow, IEEE) received the Dipl.Ing. degree from the University of Sarajevo, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in 1974, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS, USA, in 1977 and 1980, respectively. He has been with Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA, since 1987, where he is currently a Regents Professor, an Eugene E. Webb Endowed Professor, and the Site Director of the “Power Engineering Research Center” Consortium. He is also the Principal Consultant at XpertPower Associates, a consulting firm specializing in power systems data analytics. He has authored over 600 papers, given over 120 seminars, invited lectures, and short courses, and consulted for over 50 companies worldwide. His expertise is in protective relaying, automated power system disturbance analysis, computational intelligence, data analytics, and smart grids. He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering. He is a CIGRE fellow, an Honorary member and the Distinguished member. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in TX.

Slobodan N. Vukosavic (Senior Member, IEEE) was born in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia, in 1962. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Yugoslavia, in 1985, 1987, and 1989, respectively, all in electrical engineering.,He was with the Nikola Tesla Institute, Belgrade, Yugoslavia, until 1988, when he joined the ESCD Laboratory of Emerson Electric, St. Louis, MO, USA. In 1991, he was with Vickers Electric Company, London, U.K. and MOOG Electric, New York, NY, USA. He is currently with the Department of Electrical Engineering, The University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia, and the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Belgrade, Serbia. He has authored or coauthored over 100 papers, 4 textbooks, and 7 monographs and has completed over 42 large R&D and industrial projects. His research interests include digital control, power conversion in renewable energy sources, and power quality.

Marija Ilić, is a Professor Emerita at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). She currently holds a joint appointment of an Adjunct Professor in EECS Department and of a Senior Research Scientist at the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She is an IEEE Life Fellow and an elected member of the US National Academy of Engineering, and the Academia Europaea. She was the first recipient of the NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award for Power Systems in the US. She has co-authored several books on the subject of large-scale electric power systems, and has co-organized an annual multidisciplinary Electricity Industry conference series at Carnegie Mellon (http://www.ece.cmu.edu/~electriconf) with participants from academia, government, and industry. She was the founder and co-director of the Electric Energy Systems Group (EESG) at Carnegie Mellon University (http://www.eesg.ece.cmu.edu). Currently she is building EESG@MIT https://eesg.mit.edu/ , in the same spirit as EESG@CMU. Most recently she has offered an open EdX course at MIT entitled ``Principles of Modeling, Simulations and Control in Electric Energy Systems”. She is founder and chief scientist at New Electricity Transmission Solutions (NETSS), Inc, currently SmartGridz, Inc https://smartgridz.com/ .

Dr Damir Novosel

President and founder of Quanta Technology, US National Academy of Engineering, IEEE Fellow

Damir Novosel is president and founder of Quanta Technology, a subsidiary of Quanta Services, a Fortune 250 company. He was also president of Quanta Energized Services which achieved a perfect safety record during his tenure. Previously, he was vice president of ABB Automation Products and president of KEMA T&D US. Dr. Novosel is also an adjunct professor of Electrical Engineering at North Carolina State University. Damir was elected to US National Academy of Engineering in 2014. He served as president of the IEEE Power and Energy Society, VP of Technical Activities, and received the Patrick P. Ryan Meritorious Service Award. Damir is a secretary of IEEE PES Executive Advisory Council and member of the IEEE Standards Association Standards Board and chair of Strategic and Emerging Standards Committee. He is a member of the CIGRE US National Committee and received the CIGRE Attwood Associate and the Distinguished Member awards. Damir holds 18 US and international patents, published over 200 articles and reports, and contributed to 7 books. Dr. Novosel served on various boards and is presently member of the Sandia National Laboratories Energy and Homeland Security External Advisory Board and Mississippi State University Industry Advisory Board. Damir, an IEEE Fellow since 2003, holds PhD, MSc, and BSc degrees in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University (where he was a Fulbright scholar), the University of Zagreb, Croatia, and the University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, respectively. Dr. Novosel was selected as Mississippi State University Distinguished Engineering Fellow in 2015.
